April 8, 2004
Dear
Sponsor:
We would like to sincerely thank you for your support of the 5th Annual UKCOM 5K Run/Walk held April 3, 2003 at Jacobson Park. This year the 5K benefited both the Stop Youth Suicide Campaign and the Chrysalis House. The University of Kentucky College of Medicine graduating class of 2004 organized the event and many class members devoted a tremendous amount of time and energy to make the day a success. Money and awareness for these great causes was raised while promoting general health in the community.
The Run/Walk was a great success; it was the biggest UKCOM 5K ever! The event yielded approximately 275 participants and 25 volunteers. The media attention given to this event raised this community’s awareness of the valuable services provided to hundreds of women, children and teens through the Chrysalis House programs and the Stop Youth Suicide Campaign. Furthermore, we raised over $9,000 to donate to these fine organizations!
Your help and support to organize this event will be included in the upcoming Chrysalis House and Stop Youth Suicide Campaign newsletters. We are proud to share with the community your commitment to causes such as ours.
We are already planning the 6th Annual 5K Run/Walk for next year and are confident that it will be even more successful. The learning curve has been great this year and improvements are already being made.
Again, thank you for your generosity and support.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Scott Jessica Shah
